Mentors who review decisions, not just ideas

The mentor layer is where the curriculum becomes operational: pipeline definitions, scorecards, hiring rubrics, and trade-offs are pressure-tested with an operator’s eye. Clinics are designed around artefacts and constraints—your latest numbers, drafts, and decisions—so sessions end with owners and next actions.

Mentors focus on operating mechanisms: leading indicators, constraint analysis, RACI clarity, and a weekly review rhythm. Sessions are practical by design.

Mentors rotate by track and clinic cycle to match what you are implementing.

How mentor support works

Mentorship inside the Academy is structured around review rituals rather than open-ended calls. You bring an artefact—your scorecard, a hiring scorecard, a pricing draft, or a pipeline snapshot—and a mentor uses a consistent rubric to test definitions, surface bottlenecks, and clarify ownership. The point is to shorten the feedback loop and reduce the number of decisions that remain “in your head”.

01

Triage

We locate the constraint and decide what changes this week. A good triage ends with one primary focus, not a list of twelve improvements.

02

Rubric review

Mentors check definitions: entry/exit criteria, KPI calculations, and “done” conditions. Ambiguity is removed so teams can execute without constant escalation.

03

Role clarity

We use a light RACI map to make ownership explicit. Decisions move faster when people know who is responsible, accountable, consulted, and informed.

04

Cadence

The final step is a simple operating rhythm: scorecard review, pipeline review, and a decision log. The same mechanisms repeat until they become habit.

Mentor profiles

Mentors are matched to the track you are implementing and the artefacts you bring. Each profile below summarises the situations they most often review: pipeline hygiene, managerial ownership, fulfilment throughput, or strategy decisions where trade-offs need to be explicit. Admissions will recommend a starting mentor based on your current constraint and review cadence.

RB

Rachel B. — Leadership & Team Systems (CIPD Assoc.)

Focus: 1:1 cadence, role scorecards, delegation safety, manager operating rhythm.

Rachel reviews leadership mechanisms that keep decisions moving when the founder is not in the room. Her clinics centre on the weekly 1:1 agenda, escalation rules, and role scorecards that make “good performance” observable. The practical work is unglamorous: written expectations, decision logs, and recurring feedback loops. Members often bring a messy management week and leave with a short operating rhythm that holds under pressure.

Daniel K. — Sales Execution (MEDDICC Practitioner)

Focus: stage definitions, next actions, forecast hygiene, qualification criteria.

Daniel runs clinics like a pipeline audit. Members bring a snapshot of current opportunities and Daniel tests entry/exit criteria, next actions, and whether “qualified” has been defined in writing. He is strict about artefacts: a deal log, a weekly review agenda, and a definition of what moves a deal forward. If the pipeline has become a bag of hopes, his sessions bring it back to an auditable system.

Pipeline Qualification

Sanjay P. — Marketing & Positioning (B2B Demand Gen)

Focus: segmentation, messaging, lead qualification alignment, channel tests.

Sanjay helps members turn marketing into a controlled set of tests. His clinics focus on segmentation, positioning, and the practical link between marketing and sales: a shared definition of qualified demand. Members usually bring landing page drafts, offer packaging, and early channel performance. Sanjay’s review style is methodical: clarify assumptions, define success metrics, and set a two-week test with clean attribution.

Messaging Segmentation

Emma H. — Operations & Delivery (Lean Practitioner)

Focus: SOP ownership, capacity planning, queue discipline, weekly scorecard.

Emma specialises in delivery systems that reduce rework and firefighting. Members bring fulfilment flow maps, handoff points, and backlogs that have become intractable. Emma’s clinics prioritise throughput: define the constraint, reduce work-in-progress, and make a weekly scorecard that shows leading indicators (not just revenue). The typical output is a small set of SOPs with owners and a review ritual that keeps the system alive.

Martin L. — Business Strategy (MBA)

Focus: trade-offs, pricing logic, constraints, decision memos.

Martin’s sessions are built around choices. Members bring a strategy memo: target segment, offer scope, pricing model, and the constraints that make the plan realistic. Martin tests coherence: does the offer match the segment, does pricing reflect value, and can operations deliver at the promised pace? The result is a written decision record that aligns leadership and makes downstream execution easier.

Nadia O. — Hiring & People Ops (Structured Interview Design)

Focus: hiring funnel, scorecards, role requirements, onboarding checklists.

Nadia helps members build repeatable hiring mechanisms: role requirements that are measurable, interview scorecards that reduce bias, and onboarding that gets new hires productive without heroics. Clinics often start with a single critical role and end with a hiring funnel you can run each quarter. The work includes structured interviews, reference questions, and a 30‑60‑90 plan that ties to a role scorecard.

Student feedback on mentorship

These comments reflect how members describe the mentor layer: short sessions, clear rubrics, and an emphasis on decisions that survive the next week. Feedback varies by starting point, market conditions, and execution cadence.

Client feedback 4.7/5
LK
The mentor clinic format is what made the course stick. We brought our actual pipeline and got corrected on stage definitions and next actions. It stopped being “advice” and became a weekly operating mechanism we can run without the founder.
Liam K., Founder, B2B services, London
HR
We used the leadership rubric to overhaul 1:1s and escalation. The mentor asked for a decision log and a RACI map, which felt picky at first, but it removed constant confusion. People now know who owns what and by when.
Hannah R., Managing Director, training provider, Leeds
WP
The operations mentor didn’t add more meetings. She tightened our weekly scorecard and helped us identify the real bottleneck in fulfilment. Once we reduced work-in-progress and wrote a simple SOP, delivery became predictable again.
William P., Operations Lead, agency, Bristol
